I’d like to begin by expressing my sincere respect and admiration for the incredible journey you’re undertaking as parents. It’s truly one of the most challenging yet rewarding roles in life! As someone deeply dedicated to supporting children and families, my life’s mission has been assisting parents in discovering and nurturing their unique strengths, and empowering them to guide their children towards lives filled with purpose and joy.
Families are an extraordinary gift, and creating memories together is priceless. However, navigating parenthood can be overwhelming. As an Elementary School Counselor, I witness firsthand the impacts of stress, major family transitions, and trauma on a daily basis.
With a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and nearly three decades of experience working with children and families, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. My background spans various roles, including working with teen boys in recovery, serving as a therapist for children and families in mental health settings, and fostering children for seven years. My specialties encompass anxiety management, anger control, emotional regulation, cognitive behavior therapy, and much more.
In my work with elementary school children, I strive to instill a sense of personal responsibility, kindness, and empathy, encouraging them to always seek understanding and see the best in others. I currently serve 500 students and their families. I’ve built this online business so I can reach many more families. I have a great deal of wisdom to share and I have a strong desire to help support families.
Our world today is complicated and challenging. Families are under a great deal of stress! I see parents working hard to provide for their kids and I hear about their struggles as they seek to find balance between financial responsibilities and the needs of their family. It can be so difficult. There just aren’t enough hours in the day! When I was raising my foster son, as a single mom, I was in graduate school, working part-time and trying my best to spend time with him, communicate with his teachers, and get the sleep I needed! It was challenging to say the least! I made a lot of mistakes and I learned a great deal along the way. I’m excited to have this platform now to share what I’ve learned along with the strategies I use every day working with children ages 4 to 11.
Ultimately, my goal is to equip parents with practical tips and skills that alleviate stress, enhance communication, manage emotions, tackle behavior challenges, and promote mental well-being. Together, let’s embark on a journey to celebrate the unique strengths of your family and create a harmonious and fulfilling experience for all.
